Shannon has always had a strong belief that good barbecue doesn't need sauce, but when you've got a great sauce that compliments the food, you are in for the ultimate treat.

MENTALITY
Shannon’s journey began in 1998. He and his college roommate moved from Alcorn State, MS, to the big city of Atlanta, GA. During that time, the roommates would have cookouts every weekend, where all of the partakers were in awe over the exquisite taste of his barbeque.
As time moved on, Shannon got more and more request to serve as the pit master for many of his friends and coworkers get-togethers. His friends always complimented the consistent taste of his barbeque, whether it was the ribs, chicken wings, burgers or baked beans, it always taste the same. His friends and family pled with him to start his own barbeque business.
In 2002 Shannon married Khalilah Hicks, a native from Tampa, Florida. During a vacation in the first year of their marriage, Shannon was given the task of preparing the barbeque for the entire family reunion. After all was said and done, he had won over the most critical customers a man will ever know, his wife’s family. From that point on Khaliah’s family, mainly Uncle Kurt, encouraged and endorsed Shannon as the next “big thing” in barbeque.
Fat Daddy’s Smoking BBQ became official in 2016. Shannon always keeps in mind what his friends and family said made his barbeque special, consistency, you’ll taste the same flavors with every bite.
Fat Daddy’s Smoking BBQ has a mission to create the ultimate experience in catering. They seek to create a relationship with every customer where it feels like dropping off food to our family. With every bite you relive the backyard get-togethers you experienced growing up as a child, with their hallmarks being consistency and care.
Welcome to Fat Daddy’s BBQ. My journey to Fat Daddy's began in 1998 when my college roommate and I graduated from Alcorn State and moved to the big city of Atlanta, GA. We hosted cookouts every weekend and found that our friends were constantly in awe of the exquisite taste of my barbeque.
As time moved on, I received more and more requests to don the pit master cape for events hosted by my friends and coworkers. I received tons of compliments on the consistent taste of my barbeque, whether it was the ribs, chicken, burgers or baked beans.
I was beginning to grow anxious from friends and family always pleading with me to start my own barbeque business.
Fat Daddy’s Smoking BBQ became official in 2016. In keeping true to what got me here, consistency, you too will taste the same flavors with every bite.
